Privacy policy
Last updated September 2026
This policy explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it. It covers the Next Play website and the trainer pages hosted on it.
Who we are
Next Play is a booking and payment platform for independent sports trainers. Families use it to find classes, book them and pay for them. Trainers use it to publish their schedule and get paid.
What you give us
When you pay for a class we collect:
- The name and email address entered on the card screen.
- The names of the athletes attending, when they are entered.
- Which class and which date you booked, and what you paid.
There is no account to create. No password, no profile, and no saved history beyond the bookings themselves.
Information about athletes
The adult booking may enter an athlete's name so the trainer knows who to expect at the door. We collect nothing else about a child: no date of birth, no photograph, and no account.
We do not knowingly collect information directly from a child. If you believe a child has given us information without a parent involved, write to us and we will delete it.
What we collect automatically
Our servers keep ordinary web logs:
- The IP address a request came from.
- The page requested, and when.
- The browser and operating system the request announced.
We run no analytics product, set no advertising cookies, and load nothing from a third party into the pages you read. The only cookie we set signs a trainer in.
Payments
Card payments are handled by Stripe. Your card number never reaches our servers and we cannot see it. We store an identifier that lets us ask Stripe about the payment, along with the amount, the date, and what was booked.
Stripe handles your card details under its own privacy policy.
Email we send
A receipt when a booking is paid, and a notice if a trainer cancels or moves a date you paid for. Both concern a booking you already made, so neither is marketing, and we do not send marketing email to families.
Who else sees your information
Your trainer sees what is needed to run the class: who is attending, the email address on the booking, and whether it is paid.
Beyond that, we share information only with companies that run parts of the service for us, and only so they can do that job:
- Stripe, for payments.
- Resend, for email.
- Our hosting and network providers, for serving the site.
We do not sell your information. We will hand it over if the law requires it, and we will tell you when we are allowed to.
How long we keep it
Bookings and payment records are kept as business records, because they are your receipt and our tax and accounting obligation.
A trainer may ask us to remove their space and everything in it.
Your choices
Write to us and we will tell you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it, keeping only what we are legally required to hold.
Depending on where you live you may have further rights, including asking for a copy of your information or objecting to how we use it. Write to us and we will help.
Security
Traffic to the site is encrypted. A trainer signs in with a link emailed to an address already on file, and that link expires, so there is no password to steal. Access to production data is limited to the people who operate the service.
No service can promise perfect security, and we will not pretend otherwise. If a breach affects you, we will tell you.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. If a change materially affects how we handle your information, we will tell you directly.
